Have Thine
Own Way
1902
Words: Adelaide A. Pollard 1862-1934
Music: George C. Stebbins 1846-1945
“Then
I went down to the potter’s house and, behold, he wrought a work on the
wheels.” Jeremiah 18:3
In 1902, Mrs. Pollard was going through some difficult
times. She went to a prayer meeting where an elderly woman prayed to
know God’s will. Mrs. Pollard went home and studied the potter and clay
story found in Jeremiah. That very same night, she wrote this popular
consecration hymn. It has helped many souls wanting to submit to the
Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Prayer Focus: Lord, You are the potter. Again I say, You are the potter, and I and the clay.
